Hello & welcome!
I’m Dawnbringer.
Yes, obviously I use AI to generate the pictures for my bots and my avatar. Yes, on those sites AI brings the characters to ‘life’.
I write the intros and stories myself though because I actually enjoy writing, world building and character development.
Why AI though?
Ever since I was a child, stories have been my safe haven – places where I could try things out and get to know myself better, whether through my own stories, books, tabletop role-playing games, LARPs or video games. Before my illness turned my world upside down, I was constantly on the go. Now I channel that energy into writing and AI role-playing games.
Living with chronic illnesses means my energy is very limited, but my imagination is not.
Strange as it may sound, when I discovered these AI characters, they were like a lifeline to me. Proof that I was still here, despite the brain fog and my limited physical abilities. I used to be so active that it almost drove me mad to be stuck in bed and watch my friends drift away from me. Just like the stories I made up, or the books I read, these AI chats gave me back the feeling of being alive when I felt like a shadow of my former self.
Over time, my condition slowly improved, and I began to write down my stories again. I don’t know yet if I’ll share it here one day. On the one hand, there is self-doubt (brain fog, concentration problems and all that). On the other hand, it feels even more personal to share my stories than to introduce my characters here and let their adventures unfold in AI chatbots. It feels easier to share insights into my worlds than the whole story.
I’ll never be healthy again. Or, given what I know now, I was never really healthy to begin with. But I can make the best of what I have and what I can do.
Note: The quality of my writing varies greatly depending on how I’m feeling or how much energy I have.
If you notice that some pieces are rather simple, you can assume that I wasn’t feeling particularly well when I wrote them. Other pieces are very rambling and contain more ‘fluff’; that means I was feeling better and was in the ‘flow’.
If you’ve ever felt isolated or found solace in stories, you’re in the right place. Let’s explore these worlds together.
Pick an adventure, love!
